Pay Rate: $30.00 - $40.00 / hour (W2 Only)

Position Overview

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for higher education and candidate evaluation? We are seeking a dedicated Seasonal Admissions Reader to join the Office of Admissions on a direct W2 contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating prospective student applications, analyzing academic transcripts, and assessing applicant candidacy against established admissions criteria.

This is a flexible, part-time remote opportunity ideal for higher education professionals, academic evaluators, or experienced admissions readers looking to contribute to a dynamic university community during peak reading season.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Review & Evaluation: Audit, read, and evaluate 40+ prospective student applications per day using established departmental criteria and academic guidelines.

  • Holistic Candidate Assessment: Thoroughly evaluate resumes, statements of purpose, and letters of recommendation to gauge applicant motivation, initiative, and leadership potential.

  • Transcript & Credential Audit: Review domestic and international academic transcripts to verify academic eligibility and institutional requirements.

  • Professional Judgment: Apply sound, consistent professional judgment when assessing candidacy and consult with the leadership team on complex or special-consideration files.

  • Team & Workload Coordination: Work closely with full-time Admissions Officers to balance daily workloads and maintain review timelines.

  • Student & Recruitment Engagement: Respond to daily email inquiries, meet virtually with prospective students throughout the day, and promote university programs at off-campus graduate and undergraduate recruitment events as needed.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Experience: Previous experience working in university admissions, credential evaluation, or higher education application reading is strongly preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to synthesize, analyze, and evaluate large volumes of information efficiently and accurately.

  • Technical Proficiency: High computer fluency, including strong internet research capabilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office / Excel.

  • Time Management: Exceptional time management skills with a proven track record of meeting daily evaluation quotas and deadlines in an independent environment.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for prospective student interactions and team collaboration.

Work Schedule & Engagement Details
  • Employment Eligibility: Direct W2 employment only. We cannot consider C2C, 1099, third-party vendor submissions, staffing agencies, or referrals.

  • Hours: 20 hours per week (Part-time schedule).

  • Term: Up to 6 months starting immediately.

  • Holiday Break: Scheduled break in service with no hours required from December 18, 2026 - January 3, 2027.
