YouTube Thumbnail Designer | Long-Form Storytelling & Packaging

I'm looking for an experienced YouTube thumbnail designer for a long-term collaboration on long-form storytelling content.

PROVEN WORK AND PERFORMANCE

I'm looking for a strong portfolio of thumbnails you personally designed, supported by real performance data. There is no minimum cumulative view requirement. The quality of your work, creative thinking, and evidence of results matter most.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Develop compelling thumbnail concepts around each video's story, curiosity, stakes, and payoff.

• Collaborate on title-and-thumbnail packaging so the two work together.

• Create clear, visually strong thumbnails that read well at small sizes.

• Provide variations and make revisions based on feedback and performance.

• Deliver final thumbnail files and editable source files.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

• A proven track record designing thumbnails for long-form YouTube videos.

• Strong visual storytelling, composition, photo manipulation, and typography skills.

• An understanding of click-through rate (CTR), viewer expectations, and honest packaging that the video delivers on.

• Reliable communication and the ability to explain your creative decisions.

IN YOUR APPLICATION, INCLUDE

1. Your 3–5 best thumbnails that you personally designed, with the thumbnail images and links to the published videos.

2. The video view count and impressions CTR for each example. Include YouTube Analytics screenshots verifying the numbers, with the date range, impression count, and traffic source breakdown where available. Explain whether the CTR covers the submitted thumbnail's time in use or includes other thumbnail versions.

3. A brief explanation of the concept behind each thumbnail and why you consider it one of your best. If you have before-and-after results or thumbnail test results, include those too.

4. Evidence that you personally designed the thumbnails, such as credited work, source files, or client verification. Share only analytics and work you have permission to disclose; redact private details. If CTR data cannot be shared, state that clearly rather than estimating it.

5. Your portfolio, availability, and typical turnaround time.

SCREENING QUESTION

Share 3–5 of your best thumbnails you personally designed, with video links, views, and CTR for each. Include analytics screenshots and date ranges, explain your design decisions, and verify your role. Clearly identify any unavailable CTR data.

ENGAGEMENT

This is an hourly freelance role at $20/hour, intended to become an ongoing, long-term collaboration with the right designer. We are looking for a consistent creative partner for recurring work. Scope and weekly hours will be agreed before work begins.

Please submit relevant examples of your own work with performance evidence, rather than a generic application.
