This person should be able to independently source materials such as stock footage, references, B-roll, memes, and AI-generated visuals, and turn them into compelling short-form content.<br><br><strong>Must-have Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li>Strong understanding of dynamic editing: pacing, hooks, rhythm, and attention retention. </li><li>Ability to edit based on story and meaning, not just music or visuals. </li><li>Can independently find and select footage such as B-roll, stock, and references. </li><li>Experience with short-form content including Reels, Shorts, TikTok, and ads. </li><li>Ability to add captions/subtitles, basic motion graphics, zooms, transitions, and highlights. </li><li>Understands how to capture attention in the first 3–5 seconds. </li><li>Fast turnaround and ability to iterate based on feedback. </li><li>Nice to have: experience with AI tools for generating or sourcing visuals. <br><br></li></ul><strong>This is not for you if<br><br></strong><ul><li>You focus only on nice-looking edits without understanding the message. </li><li>You rely fully on provided materials and cannot source content independently. </li><li>You do not understand the difference between basic and dynamic editing. </li><li>You cannot explain why specific visuals were chosen. </li><li>You produce slow-paced edits with weak engagement. </li><li>You struggle with feedback or revisions.</li></ul>
