Join us as a Senior Pet Retail Pricing Practitioner in our Pet Pricing & Underwriting Team. Direct line & Churchill have a legacy of being a strong brand in the Pet market – we’re looking for an enthusiastic and self-Pricing lead to join our exciting team as we look to grow our brands and offerings.

What you’ll be doing

Working in an agile way means you’ll take charge early on, soak up new experiences and most importantly you’ll positively influence and shape what we do – making an impact on our customers lives. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you to opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise.

Reporting into the Pet Pricing lead, key responsibilities will include:

  • Initially supporting on the migration of our existing products onto a new platform & a successful delivery of our new & updated product suite, data requirements & schema definitions working in a highly focused, cross-group environment.
  • Working in a fast paced environment, you’ll oversee a successful migration & develop out future products in a new & exciting part of the group.
  • Work closely with the Head of Pricing & Underwriting & Pet pricing lead, and trading team to deliver pricing strategy
  • Responsibility for price optimisation & setting of market rates in line with business targets & budgets.
  • Delivery of margin, conversion & retention, and price trading, and oversee performance of demand models.
  • Develop algorithm and product build.
  • Deployment of rates & Undewriting rules.
  • Responsible for delivering budgeted pricing position.
  • Develop data & MI infrastructure to enable price optimisation, multiple scheme loss ratio management, and cater for clean data lineage across multiple platforms, ensuring technical specs are created & maintained.
  • Supporting on trading activity, including proposals, testing & PIRs, and oversee optimisation strategies
  • Development of trading MI reporting & conduct processes to support positive customer and pricing outcomes
  • Helping develop & deliver the Pricing & Underwriting strategy & ensuring the capability build required to deliver is in place.
  • Liaising with our trading teams to deliver great customer and commercial outcomes.
  • Delivery of platform migration with wider pricing team.
  • Deputise for the Pet Pricing lead as required.

What you’ll need

  • Experience of pricing a personal lines insurance product, in a price optimisation & retail trading capacity.
  • Understanding of modelling processes and concepts, and the link with risk/retail pricing.
  • Strong SQL skills, and experience of Pricing & deployment tools such as Earnix or Radar.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to innovate & work in a fast paced environment, working with a breadth of initiatives
  • Experience working to budgets & developing business cases for capability enhancement
  • System Migration experience
  • Pet experience preferable
