You will oversee a distributed global team including regional PR managers across AMERS, EMEA, and APJ, alongside communications leads. You will define, implement, and measure a global PR and communications strategy that drives industry visibility.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Regional PR Execution: Partner with and manage regional PR leads across AMERS, EMEA, and APJ to localize press strategy, manage regional PR agencies, craft the story, and drive media coverage tailored to local markets.
  • Manage Reputation & Crisis Communications: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CMO and executive leadership team on media strategy, crisis communications, and proactive press opportunities.
  • Spotlight Customer & Product Stories: Partner with Product Marketing and Customer Marketing to translate customer wins and product innovations into headline-worthy news stories.
  • Optimize Agency Management: Manage external PR agencies and global communications budgets, establishing clear accountability, media targets, and performance benchmarks.
  • Track PR Performance & Measurement: Develop, manage, and track communications metrics (share of voice, message pull-through, tier-1 press placements, and media reach) to measure outcomes, allocate resources, and demonstrate business impact.
  • Oversee GTM Executive Communications: Partner closely with our GTM communications lead to support senior executives with strategic messaging, speaking platforms, customer comms, and field alignment.
  • Guide Internal Communications: Partner with our internal comms lead to champion transparent workplace storytelling through channels like the Fastly Times newsletter, global All Hands, and Behind the Numbers.
  • Build and Retain a High-Performing Team: Manage and mentor a global team across AMERS, EMEA, and APJ, alongside dedicated leads for internal comms and GTM comms.
What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of PR and communications experience across enterprise technology, developer infrastructure, cloud computing, or cybersecurity, with a core focus on media relations and corporate PR.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Deep Media Relations Expertise: Proven track record of pitching, securing, and shaping tier-1 business, tech, and financial press coverage.
  • Global Team Leadership: Demonstrated people management experience leading distributed global PR teams across multiple regions (AMERS, EMEA, APJ).
  • Cross-Discipline Alignment: Experience aligning external PR with GTM messaging and internal employee communications to maintain narrative consistency.
  • Executive Presence: Experience advising, coaching, and drafting communications for senior leaders and spokespeople.
  • Crisis & Issues Management: Sound judgment navigating press inquiries and incident communications under tight deadlines.
  • Agency Leadership Experience: A history of driving measurable press results and accountability across global PR agency retainers.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Capable of evaluating communications output against media share of voice, press reach, and message resonance.
