School Minibus Driver

Are you a reliable, personable driver who enjoys working with young people and being part of a close-knit school community? St Peter’s Preparatory School, Lympstone is seeking a conscientious and professional Minibus Driver to play a key role in our pupils’ daily journeys to and from school.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team at an established independent preparatory school, helping to ensure that our pupils travel safely, comfortably, and on time.

The Role

You will be responsible for transporting pupils on one of our 9-seater or 17-seater school minibuses, providing a calm, safe, and welcoming environment on every journey. In addition to the daily routes, there may be opportunities for additional paid hours supporting school trips, visits, and sporting events.

  • Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Mornings: from 06:30 (2 hours)
  • Afternoons: from 16:45 (2 hours)
  • We welcome applications from candidates who are available for either the morning shift or the afternoon shift, as well as those able to cover both.
  • Contract: Permanent, term-time only
  • Salary: £10,760/£11,319 (depending on role) per annum (including paid holiday entitlement)
  • Start date: As soon as possible

About You

You will be a safe, courteous, and dependable driver with:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly manner with children and staff
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
  • Sound knowledge of driving health and safety
  • A positive attitude and an understanding of working in a school environment

A PCV (CPC) qualification is required for the 17-seater position. Drivers are expected to wear a uniform and maintain the highest standards of driving, appearance, and professional conduct while operating liveried school vehicles.
