AI at BambooHR
At BambooHR, we’re all about setting people free to do great work, and we believe AI is a powerful partner in that mission. We’re leaning into intelligent tools to streamline our workflows, giving us more time for high-impact innovation. We look for curious, forward-thinking people who are ready to explore how AI can elevate their work and help us reimagine the future of HR.

Essential Job Duties

We're looking for a Sr. Product Manager to own how agents run at BambooHR: the execution layer they run on, the triggers they respond to, the governance every agent action passes through, and the instrumentation that makes agent work measurable and billable.
This is the first dedicated product seat for a surface every team building agents depends on. Teams building agents have no product front door today, and you will be it. You'll inherit production load, real consumers, and years of accumulated architecture. No roadmap or vision document is waiting for you, so you'll create the roadmap.

You will:

  • Own product direction for the Agent Runtime: durable execution, human-in-the-loop gates, auditability, and capacity and reliability posture as agent count grows.

  • Be the product lead accountable for an architecture decision on the legacy agent platform.

  • Own a dated migration plan onto a new runtime, sequenced by consumer impact so downstream AI experiences never discover a regression by surprise.

  • Own agent governance as a product: the trust framework every agent action passes through before acting, built on the BambooHR platform's authorization and attribution patterns.

  • Define and drive usage instrumentation, including instigation flags, output lifecycle events, and a metering schema that keeps the company's monetization options open.

  • Run intake and prioritization for every team building agents, and publish an answer on whether to build on what exists now or wait for that runtime.

  • Draw and maintain the boundary between the platform agents run on and the AI experience surfaces built on it, with named consumer stakeholders on every decision that touches them.

  • Coordinate how agents are triggered: which platform events agents may respond to, and what subscribing to them requires.

  • Be the named consumer stakeholder on context and signal standards, say what agents need from workplace signals, and take part in decisions that affect how agents use them.

Success in the First 180 Days

  • Deliver a written architecture decision for the legacy agent platform, with a dated migration plan sequenced by consumer.

  • Stand up an intake path for teams building agents and publish guidance on whether to build now or wait for that runtime.

  • Establish runtime capacity and reliability reporting that leadership can act on.

  • Ship the first version of the metering schema, with instigation and lifecycle events flowing.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • You feel aligned with the BambooHR values.

  • 5+ years of product management experience in platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing products.

  • Technical depth in execution systems, workflows, or eventing. You can reason about durable execution, retries, and what makes a migration safe.

  • Experience as the product owner for internal platform consumers, with intake discipline, published contracts, and a roadmap those consumers can see.

  • Proven ability to drive alignment across teams without direct authority.

  • Judgment to make migration calls where engineering convenience and consumer safety pull in different directions.

  • Comfort with AI and agent systems, and with how quickly their patterns change.

  • You instrument before you assert, write decisions down, and sequence work by consumer impact.

What Will Make Us REALLY Love You

  • Experience with agent frameworks, LLM orchestration, or workflow engines such as Temporal.

  • Migration or sunset leadership on a system with live production consumers.

  • Product experience with usage-based pricing or metering.

What You'll Love About Us

  • A Great Company Culture that has been recognized by multiple organizations like Inc, and Salt Lake Tribune

  • Comprehensive health, life, and disability insurance

  • Generous leave policies that include 4 weeks of vacation, 12 company holidays, parental leave, and volunteer time off so you can enjoy quality of life

  • 401k plans with up to 6% company match

  • $2000 Paid-Paid Vacation bonus
