Are you an experienced medical coder looking for a fully remote, direct hire opportunity with flexibility and work-life balance? We're seeking a detail-oriented Rural Health Clinic Coder to support accurate reimbursement and high-quality coding outcomes for healthcare organizations serving rural communities.
What You'll Do
- Review patient medical records and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure coding is compliant with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and industry standards.
- Support accurate billing and reimbursement through timely and precise coding.
- Work coding queues within Cerner EMR while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with providers and administrative staff to resolve documentation and coding discrepancies.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Participate in onboarding, workflow training, and process improvement initiatives.
- Professional medical coding experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation.
- Experience working within EMRs, including Cerner (required).
- Knowledge of coding compliance, payer guidelines, and reimbursement processes.
- Ability to maintain high coding accuracy while meeting productivity goals.
- Rural Health Clinic (RHC) coding experience.
- Experience coding Rural Health Clinic visits.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
