Project Manager
<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p><p>This position has responsibility for assisting in success of new construction, vessel renovation, and development projects throughout all project phases, on-site inspections and project control documentation and support. The Project Manager will primarily be supporting the Yacht business at Hornblower Shipyard.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Serve as lead Project Manager with tracking all labor costs, expenses, and project timelines</li><li>Create and maintain project schedule using Microsoft project</li><li>Evaluate progress and quality of work being performed by designer and contractors</li><li>Evaluate project plans, work hours, budgets, and expenditures</li><li>Perform data and budget analysis and create reports as needed</li><li>Provide detailed construction status reports</li><li>Maintain professional relationships with all clients and contractors</li><li>Organize and host all on-site and virtual construction meetings</li><li>Efficiently and accurately communicate relevant project information to the project team</li><li>Review field inspection reports from Consultants throughout life cycle of the project</li><li>Assist the Program Manager with drafts and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules</li><li>Issue contracts, Letters of Intent, Purchase Orders, etc.</li><li>Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors</li><li>Plan, procure Owner Furnished Equipment, and provide customer representation for shipyard work periods. This task will require some travel</li><li>Track all labor costs, expenses, and project timelines, and evaluate progress and quality of work being performed by designer and contractors</li><li>Maintain contract execution tracking log, including change orders</li><li>Control all project data throughout the lifecycle of the project</li><li>Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all project closeout documents are obtained and filed</li><li>Travel to project sites within the US and internationally as needed</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> Requirements & Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>BS in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience is required. An advanced degree is preferred in a technical discipline associated with vessel construction or ship repair such as marine engineering.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of previous shipyard experience, or yacht experience; or equivalent</li><li>Experience creating detailed construction schedules with project scheduling software</li><li>PMP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred</li><li>Understanding of aluminum, steel, wood, & fiberglass vessel design and construction</li><li>Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, USCG, etc.)</li><li>A familiarity with current passenger vessel regulations (i.e. USCG T & K boat regulations)</li><li>Must have strong written and oral communication skills</li><li>Experience working in a team and operational environment to manage systems</li><li>Experience with Word, Excel and organizational documentation file management systems</li><li>Must thrive in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Must have a valid driver’s license</li><li>Must be able to board vessels, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete inspections</li><li>Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG including but not limited to pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident/incident testing.</li></ul><p><br></p>
