Paid 1-hour interview for dog trainers, behavior consultants, or training business owners - $50

I'm building record-keeping software for professional dog trainers and behavior consultants, and before I go further I want to talk to people who actually do the work. This is a paid, one-hour Zoom conversation. No sales pitch, nothing to install, nothing to buy.

I'm looking for people who either hold a certification — CPDT-KA, CPDT-KSA, CBCC-KA, KPA-CTP, IAABC CDBC/ACDBC, Fear Free Certified Professional, or PPAB — or currently own/run a dog training business, certified or not. You should use positive-reinforcement or LIMA methods in your practice. If you use prong or e-collar tools, please don't apply — this project isn't built around that approach, no judgment either way.

What we'll cover:

How you track sessions and client progress right now (notebook, phone, an app, nothing)

What you wish you had written down that you don't

How you update clients between sessions and how long that takes

What happens to your records if a client disputes something or an incident occurs

If you work with other trainers or run group classes, how you keep continuity across dogs and staff

The last 15 minutes: I'll show you rough mockups and ask you to tell me what's wrong with them

I want blunt, specific feedback. Telling me the idea doesn't work is exactly what I'm paying for.

Who fits: currently working with 5+ active clients or dogs; a certified trainer/consultant OR the owner of a dog training business; in-home/private lessons, behavior consulting, small facility (2–8 trainers), or group classes; US or Canada based; comfortable on a Zoom video call in English.

Who doesn't fit: hobbyists or people who've only trained their own dog; primarily boarding/daycare/grooming businesses; balanced or aversive-tool trainers.

Payment: $50 fixed price for one 60-minute call, released on Upwork right after the call. I'm hiring up to 5 people. The call is recorded for my notes only — nothing published, and you can decline recording in favor of written notes.

Answer the screening questions below to apply. Applications without credential or business details won't be considered.
