Offshore PIC/Logistics Oil and Gas Role for Decommissioning Project

Offshore Logistics Coordinator / PIC Development

Schedule: 14 Days On / 14 Days Off
Location: Offshore – Gulf of America

Position Overview

SHA Ops is seeking an Offshore Logistics Coordinator to support offshore project operations on a rotational 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule.

This position is designed as a development role with the expectation that a successful candidate will progress into a Person in Charge (PIC) position responsible for managing an offshore project spread.

Initially, the role will focus heavily on logistics, equipment and personnel coordination, project documentation, reporting, and communication between offshore operations and the onshore project management team. As the individual gains experience and demonstrates strong operational judgment and leadership, they will assume increasing responsibility for the overall execution of offshore projects.

We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable working in an offshore environment and managing the organizational and administrative requirements of a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate offshore personnel, equipment, materials, vessels, and vendor activities.
  • Support mobilization and demobilization of offshore project spreads.
  • Maintain accurate equipment manifests, personnel lists, schedules, logistics trackers, and project documentation.
  • Track project progress, equipment utilization, personnel movements, and operational activities using Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and records within Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Prepare project updates, reports, presentations, and client-facing materials using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Communicate daily with offshore personnel, vessel crews, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and SHA Ops' onshore project management team.
  • Assist the PIC with daily planning, coordination, reporting, and execution of offshore activities.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, operational planning meetings, and client discussions.
  • Identify logistical or operational issues and proactively coordinate solutions.
  • Maintain accurate daily records and assist with preparation of daily reports and project closeout documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of the equipment, procedures, and operational requirements associated with SHA Ops' offshore spreads.
  • Progressively assume responsibility for directing offshore operations and coordinating personnel and subcontractors.
  • Ultimately develop into a PIC capable of independently managing an offshore spread, including safety, logistics, personnel, client communication, documentation, and overall project execution.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically capable, comfortable working offshore, and interested in developing into an offshore leadership role.

Candidates should have:

  • Strong Culture to Safety
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including spreadsheets, formulas, data organization, tracking tools, and reporting.
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint for document management and collaboration.
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills and the ability to prepare clear, professional presentations and project updates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving offshore environment.
  • High attention to detail, particularly with logistics, documentation, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with clients, vendors, vessel crews, and offshore personnel.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 14-day-on / 14-day-off offshore rotation.
  • Ability to work extended shifts while offshore.
  • Strong interest in learning offshore operations and progressing into a leadership/PIC position.
  • Previous offshore, marine, oil & gas, construction, logistics, engineering, or project coordination experience is preferred but not necessarily required for the right candidate.

Career Progression

This is not intended to remain solely a logistics position. SHA Ops is looking for an individual with the potential to develop into an offshore Person in Charge (PIC).

The progression would generally be:

Offshore Logistics Coordinator → Assistant/Developing PIC → PIC / Spread Lead

As the employee develops, responsibilities will expand from logistics and reporting into planning and directing offshore activities, supervising personnel and subcontractors, coordinating with the client, managing the spread, and taking ownership of safe and successful project execution.
