Long-Form YouTube Editor — Re-Editing Proven Videos for New Channel

We’re launching a new YouTube channel using a library of existing long-form videos that have already performed well.

We’re looking for an experienced long-form YouTube editor who can take these completed videos and create tighter, more focused versions for the new channel.

This is not primarily a motion graphics or effects-heavy role. The most important skill is editorial judgment.

You should be able to watch an existing 20–40 minute video and identify:

What should be cut entirely

What can be shortened

Where pacing drags

How to strengthen the first 30–60 seconds

Whether sections should be reordered

Which moments are essential to the story

How to make significant cuts without hurting clarity or continuity

The goal is for the new version to feel like it was intentionally edited at its shorter length — not simply chopped down from a longer video.

What You'll Do

Re-edit existing long-form YouTube videos into tighter versions

Restructure sections when it improves the story

Remove repetition, tangents, dead time, and unnecessary setup

Improve hooks and overall pacing

Use existing footage and B-roll to maintain visual continuity

Make light adjustments to music, graphics, and sound design where helpful

Deliver organized project files and final exports

What We're Looking For

Strong experience editing long-form YouTube content

Excellent sense of pacing, structure, and storytelling

Understanding of YouTube audience retention

Ability to make independent editorial decisions

Strong communication and reliability

Adobe Premiere Pro preferred

You do not need to create elaborate animations or constantly add effects. Story, clarity, pacing, and retention matter more than flashy editing.

You’ll receive an existing successful long-form video and be asked to create a significantly tighter version using the existing footage/assets.

If it goes well, there is potential for ongoing work re-editing multiple videos for the new channel.
