About the Show

Grooves & Embers (existing podcast) is a sophisticated, long-form conversational video podcast exploring music culture, thoughtful dialogue, and curated lifestyle topics. We produce high-quality multi-camera video episodes paired with pristine, broadcast-ready audio across YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and social platforms.

Project Overview & Scope

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Podcast Video & Audio Editor for ongoing post-production. Each episode consists of a long-form interview (approx. 45–90 minutes) captured with a multi-camera setup and multi-track audio.

You will be responsible for taking raw multi-angle footage and multi-track audio, turning it into a polished, broadcast-ready YouTube episode, a fully mastered standalone audio file for DSPs (Apple & Spotify), and eye-catching YouTube thumbnail assets.

Key Deliverables per Episode:

Full-Length Multi-Cam Video Master (YouTube / Spotify Video):

Sync multi-angle camera footage with clean multi-track audio.

Dynamic, natural multi-cam cuts that follow the flow of conversation without excessive/distracting jump cuts.

Color correction and balanced color grading across all camera angles for a consistent, premium look.

Smooth integration of custom Intro/Outro sequences, lower thirds, chapter cards, and mid-roll sponsor/break segments.

Mastered Audio Episode (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, RSS):

High-quality audio cleanup: background noise removal, hum/click elimination, room reverberation reduction, and de-essing.

Multi-track leveling, compression, EQ balance, and mastering to industry podcast loudness standards (e.g., -16 to -14 LUFS).

Clean placement of intro/outro music beds and transitions.

Final export as a high-bitrate MP3/WAV with proper ID3 metadata tags.

Thumbnails & Visual Assets:

High-converting, brand-aligned 16:9 YouTube thumbnails (Photoshop/Canva) featuring clean subject cutouts, clear typography, and strong color contrast.

Short-Form Clips (Optional / Add-on Scope):

[Optional] 1–3 vertical (9:16) highlight clips optimized for Reels/Shorts/TikTok with dynamic animated subtitles.

Required Software & Technical Skills:

Video Editing & Color: Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve Studio (Final Cut Pro acceptable with proven multi-cam workflow).

Audio Post-Production: Adobe Audition, iZotope RX, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or DaVinci Fairlight.

Graphic Design: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva Pro (for thumbnail creation).

File Management: Familiarity with cloud-based workflows (Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io) for organized media delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Proven portfolio/reel showcasing previous multi-camera long-form podcast or interview editing.

Deep understanding of conversational pacing (cutting on natural speech pauses and emotional reactions).

Strong ear for balanced vocal audio and broadcast loudness standards.

Reliable turnaround time (e.g., 3–5 business days per episode) and responsive communication.
