Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technology Lead - Confluent Kafka to lead the design, implementation, and administration of Kafka-based event streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Confluent Kafka, strong middleware administration skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Kafka/Confluent Kafka solutions.
  • Administer and manage Kafka clusters, including performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability of Kafka environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related production issues.
  • Implement best practices for Kafka security, governance, and data retention.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to integrate Kafka with enterprise systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to long-term streaming platform strategy.
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka and Apache Kafka.
  • Solid background in Middleware Administration.
  • Experience managing Kafka topics, partitions, replication, and consumer groups.
  • Knowledge of Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kafka Streams.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and logging frameworks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Prior experience in a lead or architect role.
