We handle everything behind the scenes (e.g. managing budgets, scheduling shoots, securing copyright, raising contracts, completing post‑production paperwork) so programmes run seamlessly. Our work ensures the BBC delivers world‑class entertainment that millions recognise and love.

This is our entry‑level position into production management; you will work as a Production Management Assistant, supporting our Production Managers and Production Coordinators in creating quality content for all of our output, which may include TV, audio, online, events and digital platforms.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice with BBC Studios Entertainment, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute - you may demonstrate the following:

  • Work on location, in studios, galleries, and across our BBC Offices to support the production of our programmes (e.g. by assisting with shoots, studio set‑ups, and call sheets)
  • Book and manage logistics (e.g. travel, accommodation, equipment hire, props)
  • Learn about copyright and music clearance, and put your knowledge into action
  • Learn about contracts and put your knowledge into action (e.g. crew or runner bookings)
  • Learn best practices in production management, health & safety, and compliance

On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for job roles such as a Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Coordinator, depending on experience both inside and outside of the BBC.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
  • Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
  • Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
  • Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation
  • For candidates under 19 years at the start, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent. If you have not achieved these, you must attain Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship

To apply for this scheme, you must also:

  • Passion for the production management side of making content. If you prefer the creative idea side, the Production Apprenticeship may be more suitable.
  • No prior learning is required to apply. If you already have relevant experience or qualifications, your individual learning plan may be adjusted to reflect this – meaning you could complete your apprenticeship in less time.
