Games Marketing & Community Manager

Overview

Parable Studios is a research-driven indie game studio using AI for core game mechanics with a focus on ethical, sustainable and creative-driven utilisation. Our first title, “Millennium Whisper” is a first-of-its-kind dating simulator and was released into early access on Steam earlier this year. We combine ground-breaking machine learning architectures with royalty-compensated, original creative input (collected in our “actor sessions”) with cutting-edge AI character generation. Our approach tackles the gaming industry’s struggle to integrate recent AI advancements into commercially viable offerings whilst addressing the AI industry’s reluctance to sustainably incorporate the work of creatives, whilst also being 10x more environmentally friendly. Communicating this to our audience has proven challenging.

We are now seeking a creative and driven Marketing & Community Engagement Officer to help us build a strong online presence and grow our visibility through nurturing our community and cultivating relationships with small to medium influencers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted marketing strategy focused on generating leads for influencer/streamer content creation and partnerships for our IP.
  • Set clear KPIs and marketing objectives aligned with business growth targets.
  • Create and manage a marketing calendar, ensuring consistent promotional activity.

Community Engagement

  • Communicating our progress, reporting on feedback, and playfully engaging with our community through Discord, Steam and others.
  • Creation and maintenance of monetisation services (i.e. Patreon) for our high-engagement fans.
  • Managing our team of outsourced actors for the organisation of events and community content creation.

Marketing Material & Brand Management

  • Design or oversee the production of marketing materials – trailers, banners, digital assets, special behind-the-scenes content, etc.
  • Ensure a consistent brand tone, look and feel across all online and offline content.
  • Update and manage our company website, Steam page and YouTube channel, ensuring relevant and fresh content.

Performance Review & Reporting

  • Regularly review and report on campaign effectiveness, lead generation and conversion rates.
  • Test new approaches and channels, then iterate based on data.
  • Report monthly to the executive team with insights and recommendations, i.e. defining audience personas and proposing actions to target them, informing game design decisions from fan sentiment.
  • Community driven feature-improvement campaigns
  • Communication of update contents and construction of roadmaps
  • Utilising in-house research documentation to demonstrate our expertise to the public
  • Applying for conference presentation opportunities
  • Proven experience in marketing and community outreach, ideally in a videogame-focused setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-starter with the confidence to act on new ideas, follow through independently, and take initiative
  • Comfortable adapting to new platforms, tools, and trends — flexible and open to change in a burgeoning field and fast-evolving marketing landscape
  • Comfortable attending public events and speaking with members of the community.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least one of the following: video editing experience; experience writing/directing content creation; graphic design/branding experience; knowledge and experience in social media marketing tools.

What We Offer

  • Meaningful work as part of a team pushing the envelope on ethical and sustainable integration of AI into video games
  • Supportive, creative and friendly micro team culture
  • Salary reviews tied to individual and company performance
  • Equity offered via share options pool
  • Travel expenses between any community events/engagement covered
  • Opportunity to shape a brand from the ground up with real creative input.
  • Mentoring opportunities with external games marketing leads

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short cover letter briefly detailing the following:

  • Why you’re interested in this role and how your skills, knowledge and experience could be applied to this role
  • Your best marketing win - Describe one campaign or project you led, what you did, and the outcome (e.g., leads and/or business generated, ROI, instances of real world application of creative strategies).

Please note: We love AI (we use it too, obviously) - but your cover letter is your chance to tell us about you. Please write it in your own voice so we can get to know the real person behind the application.
