Founding Business Development Lead – Utility Industry

Founding Electric Utility Business Development Executive

Remote – U.S. | Base + Commission + Equity

We're looking for a senior electric utility executive or business development leader who has spent their career in the industry, has strong relationships with utility decision-makers, and is interested in an entrepreneurial opportunity.

Our client is an early-stage software company developing a cloud-based enterprise platform that automates and modernizes the meter-to-cash process for electric utilities.

Your primary role is simple: use your industry relationships to open doors and arrange meetings with senior utility executives. You'll work directly with the company's two founders, who will lead product demonstrations and technical discussions.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 15+ years in the electric utility or utility technology industry
  • Strong relationships with senior executives at Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs), municipal utilities and/or electric cooperatives
  • Knowledge of meter-to-cash, metering, MDMS or utility data systems
  • Executive-level credibility and the ability to get meetings with utility decision-makers
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping build an early-stage company

This is not a traditional quota-carrying software sales job. It's an opportunity for an experienced utility industry leader to leverage their network, help win the company's first major utility customers, and participate in the upside through base compensation, commission and equity.

Remote within the U.S. | Some customer and industry-event travel required
