Forklift Operator/Warehouse Worker

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a variety of warehouse equipment including forklift trucks (reach truck, cherry picker, Hi-Lo, clamp truck), pallet jacks, and barcode scanning devices to load, unload, and transport materials.
  • Manage inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), ensuring accuracy in stock levels and location tracking.
  • Perform order picking and packing tasks efficiently to fulfill shipping requirements while adhering to safety standards.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal operation of forklifts and material handling tools.
  • Assist with shipping & receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments against documentation.
  • Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas and maintaining a clean, safe work environment following OSHA safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve inventory accuracy, and implement best practices in materials handling.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating forklift equipment such as reach trucks, cherry pickers, Hi-Lo’s, clamp trucks, or similar heavy machinery within a warehouse setting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations including inventory management, order picking, shipping & receiving procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in production environments (OSHA compliance) and adherence to forklift safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and materials movement with proper technique.
  • Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and barcode scanning accuracy.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software for logistics tracking.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment dedicated to safety and efficiency.
