Pie's mission is to empower small businesses to thrive by making commercial insurance affordable and as easy as pie. We leverage technology to transform how small businesses buy and experience commercial insurance.

Like our small business customers, we are a diverse team of builders, dreamers, and entrepreneurs who are driven by core values and operating principles that guide every decision we make.
As a Contract Recruiter, you'll identify top talent in the market, attract applicants by communicating our value proposition and embodying our talent brand, and manage the candidate experience throughout Pie's recruiting process. You'll play an essential role in onboarding the talent that supports our scaling business initiatives, working across Pie's corporate and business groups to fill entry- to manager-level requisitions.

How You'll Do It

Manage the full-cycle recruiting process

  • Develop strategies to identify, attract, and engage the best talent, with a focus on passive candidate outreach and innovative sourcing.
  • Manage candidate flow through our ATS, Greenhouse.
  • Give every Pie prospect and candidate a world-class experience.
  • Learn what each candidate is looking for so you can present a market-competitive offer that reflects their expectations.

Client management

  • Partner with hiring teams to understand their organizational objectives and build hiring plans to achieve them.
  • Work with executives, leaders, and the Director of Talent to create and distribute content across our job posting platforms and social media.
  • Coach hiring leaders through the recruiting process and act as their subject matter expert.
  • Build strong relationships with client groups.
  • Lead the kickoff, interview panel, and debrief for each search.

Team contributions and collaboration

  • Share input on Talent team processes to help improve them and find efficiencies.
  • Carry a moderate workload, with moderate volume and complexity.
  • Support talent brand, external events, and project work that strengthens Pie's recruitment and brand.

The Right Stuff

Required qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing or full-lifecycle recruiting across multiple departments, including corporate functions.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and common sourcing tools, like LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information effectively. You can articulate the team member value proposition to candidates, write a compelling pitch email to prospective candidates, and deliver difficult or disappointing decisions clearly and professionally.
  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to use it to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to manage and navigate moderately complex recruiting situations with stakeholders and candidates.
  • Understanding of how functional corporate and business teams operate together.

Preferred qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience recruiting in the insurance industry.
  • 1+ year of experience recruiting in a fast-paced startup or scaling business.
  • Experience with Greenhouse.
