College Counselor – Part-Time
Job Description:
- Carry a caseload of 12+ students, primarily juniors and seniors
- Guide students and families through the full college admissions process
- Build and maintain one-to-one relationships with students
- Counsel students outside school hours and in their time zones
- Support both students and their families
- Track processes and deadlines to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
- Work approximately 10–20 hours per week with students, depending on season and caseload
- Complete initial training followed by mentoring, support, and ongoing professional development
- Use internal systems and third-party tools to manage caseloads, track student progress, and communicate with families
- Occasionally work weekends during the fall busy season (approximately September–January)
Requirements:
- Must reside in and be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be available during West Coast hours as a regular part of the schedule
- Experience working directly with students and families
- Ability to work with students of all ages, including freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors
- Experience navigating parent and family dynamics
- Ability to manage a caseload of 12+ students
- Strong project management, deadline tracking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously within evolving systems
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Comfort learning and using internal systems and third-party tools
- Availability to counsel students outside school hours and occasionally on weekends during the busy fall season
- College admissions experience is not required
- Must provide own equipment and reliable internet connection
