Airline Ramp Agent & Aircraft Appearance Agent, DFW Airport

Join the team at DFW Airport as a Ramp Agent earning $18.00 per hour or an Aircraft Appearance Agent earning $17.00 per hour.

Airline Ramp Agent will handle essential ramp service tasks with a focus on safety and precision, from loading baggage and cargo to marshalling aircraft and performing water servicing.

Aircraft Appearance Agent is responsible for ensuring the interior of aircraft is clean, well-stocked, and flight-ready in accordance with airline and safety standards. Duties include equipping cabins with necessary supplies, performing thorough interior cleanings using both manual and mechanized tools, and maintaining service kits and cleaning equipment. Agents must comply with all site security procedures and report any concerns as required.

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement and may vary based on customer contract needs.

What You'll Do

Airline Ramp Agent

  • Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.
  • Load and unload cargo on and off aircraft.
  • Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders and tugs, to move cargo between the terminal, warehouse, and aircraft.
  • Perform ground service functions such as connecting and removing ground power and ground start units, plus water service.
  • Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking, and related guide man functions.
  • Maintain a secure work environment.
Aircraft Appearance Agent
  • Equip airplane cabin, by reading check list specifications, with equipment and supplies such as rugs, linens, blankets, etc., as well as carrying supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. on board aircraft
  • Cognitive skills to check condition, clean, sort, count, salvage and/or store equipment, and assemble kits.
  • Operate vacuum cleaner and similar mechanized cleaning aids.
  • Cognitive skills to check deliveries of supplies against requisitions to determine discrepancies.
  • Performing aircraft interior cleaning, including equipping the aircraft cabin for flight according to specifications, with equipment and cabin services supplies.
  • Cleaning interior of aircraft by hand or powered equipment using cleaners.
  • Completion of the aircraft cleaning bill of work as required.
  • Stocking and cleaning of vehicles used in the cleaning function.
  • Stocking and cleaning of the cabin service make-up rooms area.
  • Stocking and maintaining cabin service kits
  • Disposing of trash, rubbish and waste that is incidental and related to the applicable job functions.
  • Uses cleaning fluids and materials, such as washing solutions, scrapers, squeegees, wringer pails and vacuum cleaners.
  • Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo (up to 50 lbs or more).
  • Valid driver's license, maintained throughout employment in this role.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crews.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipment.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulations.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
Preferred Skills
  • Previous experience in aviation or ground handling operations.
  • Familiarity with aircraft types and airport layout.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols in the airport environment.
  • Experience operating ground support equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Lift, push, and pull cargo up to 50 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the airport terminal or warehouse.
  • Bend, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs as needed to handle luggage.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Manual dexterity for handling documents, operating computers, and using two-way radios.
  • Remain on your feet for extended periods, up to 8 hours or more per shift.
  • Clear vision and hearing for monitoring flight information and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Work in confined spaces such as baggage handling areas or aircraft cabins.
  • Work in a noisy environment, such as near aircraft engines and ground support equipment.
