About HMCTS
HM Courts & Tribunals Service administers criminal, civil and family courts and tribunals in England and Wales. We support court users and colleagues to access life‑changing justice.
Your Role
As an Admin Officer you will support the court/tribunal system and provide administrative support to HMCTS functions. You will progress cases, handle court documents, and interact with court users including members of the Judiciary and legal professionals.
Responsibilities
- Prepare papers and files for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings.
- Create and update records in the in‑house computer system and input data.
- Result cases accurately, interpreting required information on court files.
- Check and verify documents, records, accounts, claims and returns against criteria and regulations.
- Collect and assemble information for returns, results, accounts, statements, warrants and statistical analysis.
- Communicate with the public, the Judiciary and other court users and representatives of agencies and organisations.
Skills & Experience
Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, friendly and approachable manner. Ability to organise time, prioritise efficiently, multi‑task and adapt to software packages. Proactive customer support by phone and email in a busy environment.
Working Arrangements
Full time 37 hours per week. Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing options available. Hybrid working is offered; a minimum of 60% of working time in an office is required.
